1492 Conquest Of Paradise this album was released. At first
it seems to cash in on the hype by opening with a bombastic (but solid) track
that is very reminiscent of the
Conquest of Paradise single. The German
advertising campaign claims Vangelis wrote this as thanks to Henry Maske for his
part in the success of 1492, but that sounds more like another marketing trick.
The rest of the album is calm and ethereal. Many passages are reminiscent of
former works while three different vocalists (Paul Young, Stina Nordenstam and
Caroline Lavelle) contribute in surprising ways. |
