Vangelis released Direct in 1988, at the time a major new work that covered all aspects of his previous career. The results were quite exciting, from his familiar dynamic pieces and rhythmic approaches to more reflective passages, and a wonderful "Glorianna" with superb female operatic vocals closing out the first half.
